Architectural Photography - Cost Sharing Calculator
WHAT IS COST SHARING IN ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY?
Cost sharing in architectural photography is extreemly common but it still seems to be a bit confusing at times. So, like many before me, let me try to explain it in the simplest way I can. All parties that want access to use the images in their marketing materials need to license the images. Cost sharing in architectural photography is the practice of splitting the cost of a shoot with other parties involved in the project. Cost sharing is a win win in every situation, because as the number of licensing parties increases the total cost per party goes down. Most of my clients take advantage of cost sharing with other parties like the construction company, client, real estate developer, furniture manufacturer/dealer, or even the glass manufacturer.
I have created this “Cost Share Calculator” to help you visualize how it works and how it results in large savings for everyone participating. Feel free to play around with the sliders and watch the total cost per party go down.
Disclaimer: This is not an official estimate as the calculator can not incorporate the variable expenses like travel and assistant fees.
